GET TO KNOW JOE

Joe Flaherty is a rising Junior at Loyola University Chicago as well as a budding broadcast journalist. He has experience with all mediums of broadcast, especially with TV and Web/Blog Sites. He is an assistant producer of the Rambler Sports Locker at Loyola University, which is the first regularly produced broadcast program of any kind in Loyola's history. He is also the Bear's beat writer for The Sports Bank blog and has his own column in the sports section of the Loyola Phoenix called "Windy City Mo-Joe."

His skills range from on camera to behind the scenes. He shoots footage, conducts interviews, records voiceovers, edits multimedia packages, anchors shows, writes articles, creates maps and slideshows, and is proficient with behind the scenes work such as operating cameras, teleprompters, sound boards, switch boards, and clip servers.

The main focus of his works are sports, exercise, and nutrition, but he has produced material covering multiple community events near Loyola University's Lake Shore Campus.

Fitting with his interest in sports, he is also employed by the Chicago Cubs on a seasonal basis as an Event Operations Ambassador at Wrigley Field. He helps the patrons in any way possible and tries to produce the most fan-friendly atmosphere at the Friendly Confines, regardless of the outcome on the field.
